Delivery and receipt of heavy goodsDo not book your plumber until your goods have arrived and been checked Be warned - cast iron is very heavy and for this reason cast iron radiators are transported on pallets. To give you a general idea of the weights involved: 357mm high - Etonian 4 per section – 2.4kg 660mm high Liberty – 10.8kg per section 660mm high - Etonian 4 per section – 5.3kg 760mm high Liberty – 11kg per section 960mm high - Etonian 4 per section – 7.5kg 954mm high Liberty – 13.5kg per section On request, the Etonian, Liberty, Clasico and Burlington cast iron radiators, can be delivered assembled in 2 or 3 parts for on site joining. You will need to order a joining tool on a sale or return basis (£100), and this will be sent out with instructions. It is worth considering this option for the larger radiators where manpower is limited and particularly if your radiators will need to be carried up or down stairs. To keep your delivery costs to a minimum we use commercial pallet carriers to transport our heavy radiators. Unless you are local to our showroom in Bingley, West Yorkshire, to use a dedicated van specifically manned and insured for domestic timed deliveries, would be prohibitively expensive for most of our customers - however, if you would like us to quote for please ask. Our standard service Someone will need to be at the delivery address on the delivery day to meet the delivery – between 8.30am and 5pm - Monday to Friday. You will be contacted at least 24 hours in advance to advise which day the truck is in your area. If this is not convenient, delivery can roll over to the next week. For deliveries of the Victorian, Gothic and Rococo cast iron radiators you can specify a “before noon delivery” on a chosen weekday, but there will be a surcharge for this. If nobody if available to sign for the goods then arrangement will be made for re-delivery. You will be required to pay for the additional costs of re-delivery (the standard delivery charge of £25 is subsidized by us). The driver will deliver your radiator(s) to the nearest hard standing (pavement or driveway – but not up any steps). The truck will have a tail-gate so the driver can mechanically lower your radiators to the ground. The driver will then use a pallet trolley to transport the goods to the nearest hard standing. Due to Health and Safety legislation, the driver is prohibited from lifting heavy goods himself. The driver is not insured to enter your house. Access for delivery truck: Delivery will usually be made in a 45 foot truck. If access will be a problem, please let us have an alternative delivery address failing that please call to discuss.Receipt of your radiators: Please unwrap and thoroughly inspect your goods immediately after delivery. Please check against the delivery note to ensure that you have received the appropriate number of brackets, air vents and plugs. If you are not sure what these look like, please call and we can advise. Due to the weight of cast iron and the transport process, the top coat finish does occasionally get scratched. For this reason, our cast iron radiators are sent out with a small pot of touch up paint to use if necessary. Any visible damage or faults over and above small abrasions that can be dealt with using touch up paint, must be reported to us within 3 days of receipt, to enable us to claim a replacement from our supplier, otherwise the goods will be deemed acceptable. In the unlikely event that your radiator is damaged or otherwise visibly faulty, please ensure that you retain all the original wrapping. We cannot accept back any radiator, on the grounds of visible damage or visible fault, if it has been plumbed in.
